Tony Daley to fly the home flag at Wolves
Wolves fitness coach Tony Daley will take on a bigger role ensure a 'British culture' is maintained in Molineux's new management structure.
Patrick Weiser's appointment as head coach yesterday means Wolves have three different nationalities in their management team with Norwegian boss Stale Solbakken, Danish assistant manager Johan Lange and Weiser, who is German.
Solbakken had initially insisted he wanted an English coach to replace Terry Connor when he started his search. But after appointing Weiser, who he worked with at Cologne last season, he said 45-year-old Daley would help bridge the gap to ensure there was a through line of British thinking.
The former Villa, Wolves and England winger, who has been with Wolves second time around for five years, will make sure a British way of thinking remains part of the coaching structure.
"When we searched at the beginning, we thought we should have an English coach," said Solbakken.
"But then we thought about it, we already have Tony Daley, and he's taking part in all the planning and he's close to the team all the time.
"He's a former England international who is both knowledgeable in terms of fitness and football and he will take on a more central role with the team."
