Jermaine Pennant today vowed to give his all to Wolves as he described the club as "the perfect choice".

The Stoke winger trained today with his new team-mates for the first time after signing on an initial three-month loan.

Pennant is keen to show how determined he is to do well at Molineux after some Wolves fans took comments he made on Twitter to mean he didn't want to come.

Just after announcing he was to be loaned out, he tweeted: "Stokies ill keep you updated I'm not gonna lie I'm gutted like but I gotta play!!"

But he said today: "I've come here to do a job and I'm ready to give it my all.

"If I can get on the ball as much as possible hopefully I can benefit the club. I'm excited to have made the move.

"Wolves are going well and hopefully I can help maintain that and give the team a boost. Wolves are a massive club and it's been a tough game and a great encounter every time I've played against them.

"I'm just looking to do the best I can for Wolves and try to keep them towards the top of the table."

Pennant is keen to get regular action again after just two games so far this season.

And the 29-year-old former Liverpool and Birmingham wideman believes he couldn't be in a better place.

"There were other teams involved but the stature of Wolves and their position in the table helped make my mind up," said Pennant.

"I did some research and know they want to play good football and have good training facilities. It's close to home as well and it was the perfect choice."

Pennant will provide some much-needed cover after injuries to wingers Razak Boukari, Slawomir Peszko and Stephen Hunt.

But he isn't expecting to start immediately as preparations began for Saturday's trip to Huddersfield.

"I'm not presuming I'm going to go straight in – I might be on the bench," said Pennant.

"After that there are two home games and by then I'm sure I'll be bedded in a lot more. My fitness levels are great and I'm 100 per cent.

"It's not gone as planned for me at Stoke this season. But I've got a great opportunity now."
