Dave Edwards 'still has a role to play'

Stale Solbakken today insisted Dave Edwards has a Wolves future – despite leaving him out on Saturday.
The midfielder was unhappy to be excluded from the 18-man party for the Capital One Cup tie against Aldershot which his team-mates won 7-6 on penalties along with Nenad Milijas, who has been transfer-listed.
Edwards had recovered sufficiently from a thigh injury that kept him out of the final friendly at Southampton to report for Wales duty after Saturday's game following a training session at Compton on the morning of the Aldershot match.
But Solbakken believes the 26-year-old will have benefitted more from time on the training pitches and in action for Wales – who play Bosnia Herzegovina at Llanelli tonight.
"I've told Dave that I like him as a player and think he'll have a future here," said the boss.
"But he came in late for pre-season because he'd been with Wales and then he got an injury and was out for a little while.
"He played the 60 minutes in Telford and then went out again, so I just thought it would be better for him to train fully last weekend and get some air in his lungs rather than maybe start on the bench and play 15 minutes or something."
Meanwhile, Solbakken confirmed Slovakia international Marian Kello is still under consideration if keeper Dorus De Vries joins Liverpool – as Wolves were linked with Fulham's David Stockdale.
"We would need another goalkeeper if De Vries leaves, that's 100 per cent sure," said the boss.
* Slawomir Peszko was today ruled out of Wolves' Championship opener with Leeds due to lack of match fitness.
