Wolves defender George Elokobi is facing allegations that he pushed a steward to the ground as he was escorted from the pitch while playing for Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Elokobi is on loan at the City Ground.

Reading FC had just clinched promotion to the Premier League when the steward attempted to escort the away player off the pitch at the Madejski Stadium.

The 50-year-old steward reported to police he needed stitches after he was pushed to the floor causing him to bang his head.

The game on Tuesday ended 1-0 to the Royals, which ensured their automatic promotion back to the top flight.
