Permanent seating is being installed in the upper tier of Molineux's towering new £18 million North Bank.

Workers have screwed in a column of black seats on the side of the stand nearest to the Billy Wright Stand.

Club officials today said black seats spelling out the word Wolves will be set against a background of gold seats.

A total of 4,000 temporary black seats on the lower tier which were put in place so supporters could use the new stand this season will be removed in the summer.

Two Wolves head motifs will be created, again using black seats surrounded by gold.

Club spokesman Matt Grayson said that while seats were being put in, the upper tier would not open until scheduled at the start of next season. "Although permanent seating is being installed, the concourse areas will not be ready until later on," he said.

Once complete, the new Stan Cullis Stand – which dwarfs the other three sides of the ground – will seat 7,700 supporters.

Chairman Steve Morgan, who had originally budgeted £16m for phase one of his £40m redeveloment of the ground, is ploughing an extra £2m into the project.
