Terry Connor today insisted Wolves have the heart for a survival scrap despite yesterday's 5-0 drubbing at Fulham.

Wolves dropped back into the bottom three on goal difference after crashing to their equal worst-ever Premier League defeat, matching the 5-0 loss to Chelsea in September 2003.

The biggest collapse since a 6-0 defeat to Southampton in March 2007, yesterday's drubbing meant Wolves have conceded 12 goals in the last three games.

It cranked up the pressure for Saturday's pivotal home clash against Blackburn, who are fourth bottom with a better goal difference.

But boss Connor remains confident he can lead the club to survival.

Asked if he has the players to stay up, the new manager said: "Absolutely, we do work at that end of the table so we know we will be in the bottom three at times.

"We have done it for two years now and worked our way through and stuck together and been in the Premier League.

"They are well versed in what is required for working at that end of the league and we've got to stick together."

Connor added: "We are always going to get a bloody nose every now and again.

"For me, it's how we bounce back from those things, we have lost games like this and come back, and we need to do it again."

Connor insists the players can cope with the pressure despite their position in the drop zone.

He said: "They have shown they can perform under this pressure of being in this position and being in the bottom three.

"I don't think it makes that much difference, at this stage, because the players are well versed in playing under that pressure."

Meanwhile, Wolves today faced an anxious wait over Karl Henry after the midfielder limped off at Fulham.

Henry lasted 19 minutes of yesterday's defeat after suffering a hamstring injury.
