Here's a round-up of what the papers are saying as Wolves continue their hunt for a new manager - nine days after sacking Mick McCarthy.

DAILY STAR: Wolves could have just 24 hours to avoid total managerial meltdown. They say that Steve Bruce is the latest top manager ready to turn his back on the Premier League strugglers. Former Sunderland chief Bruce was interviewed almost a week ago and is not prepared to be kept waiting much longer.

DAILY EXPRESS: Bruce is the No.1 contender to lead Wolves out of the chaos caused by the sacking of McCarthy.

DAILY MAIL: Reading are fighting to keep Brian McDermott from speaking to Wolves about taking over as their new manager. The Royals at first appeared happy to give permission for the struggling Premier League club to talk to McDermott when they were approached on Monday, but now it appears Reading's new Russian owners have had a change of heart.

THE SUN: McDermott has been ruled out of the running for the vacant position.

MIRROR: McDermott is in the middle of a tug of war between the two clubs. Apparently Reading will offer him a new four-year deal if he stays.
