Wolves captain Roger Johnson today insisted 'I'm back' after admitting the team's poor run left a miserable mood in the camp.

The £4.5million defender was as affected as anyone during Wolves' slump of one point in seven games before Sunday's timely 3-1 win against Wigan and made no secret of being below-par.

But the 28-year-old was Wolves' best player in the 3-1 defeat at Manchester City and showed signs of coming out of his dip at the weekend.

He said: "I was disappointed and certainly had a word with myself but, for the Manchester City and Wigan games, I was back to my normal self.

"I've not been performing how I've wanted to. The manager brought me here and I wanted to repay him with good performances. I started well but then lost a bit of form.

"As individuals and as a team we weren't playing too well. So it was nice to get the three points against Wigan, who are down there with us."
