Wolves 'Superman' Stephen Ward could be thrown up front if Steven Fletcher misses Saturday's clash against Queens Park Rangers.

Fletcher is a doubt with a groin injury picked up in the 2-0 weekend defeat against Tottenham.

Manager Mick McCarthy said: "I've always got 'Superman' - Stephen Ward, who can play up there.

"The team comes before anyone's personal gain and what's lovely about 'Wardy' is he takes that view.

"I've got another good left-back in George Elokobi and, if I can put another good left-back in and have the other playing up front, that's got to be the way.

"Michael Kightly can also play up there or off someone and Sam Vokes is fine.

"But I'm hoping Fletcher will be fit."
