Wolves prospect Anthony Forde today insisted he was ready for more after his impressive debut.

The 17-year-old midfielder shone in a 18-minute substitute's appearance in Saturday's 2-0 friendly win over Real Zaragoza.

But Forde, who was voted Wolves academy Player of the Year for last season, had his feet planted firmly back on the ground on Monday night as part of the development team who lost 3-1 at AFC Telford.

Manager Mick McCarthy insisted at the weekend that Forde could be in his squad and the youngster showed maturity way beyond his years ,with the confidence to take players on.

And, after catching the eye in senior company, Forde is eager to sample the big-match atmosphere again.

He said: "It was brilliant for me to get on for my debut and I really enjoyed it. The gaffer just told me to do as well as I could and make the most of it.

"The ground wasn't full but there was still quite a big crowd, so I just wanted to focus on playing my normal game.

"All of us young players just work as hard as we can an,d then when we get a chance in training or in a game, we have to try to impress.

"I was back playing for the reserves on Monday which, unfortunately, we lost but I've just got to work hard from here and see what happens."
