Mendez-Laing joins Sheffield United

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was today poised to complete a youth loan move to Sheffield United until January.

Mendez-Laing will join the Blades - relegated to League One - after a protracted move to Peterborough fell through this week.

A six-figure fee was agreed between the clubs, but the deal fell through over personal terms.

The 19-year-old returned to Wolves and scored for the development side in Monday's 3-0 win at Airbus, before the Blades came calling.

The pacy wide man has significant experience of League One football through his season-long loan to Peterborough, making 40 appearances in Posh's promotion season.
