Wolves are interested in Swansea No 1 Dorus De Vries – but they could still end up signing another goalkeeper.

De Vries' agent Arnold Oosterveer admitted there has been an enquiry from Molineux for the 30-year-old, who is available on a Bosman free transfer as he is out of contract.

Oosterveer said: "There are a lot of teams interested in Dorus and Wolves are one of them. Dorus is on holiday at the moment and he is back next weekend.

"We have had Swansea's final offer so Dorus will make a final decision when he gets back."

With the Dutch goalkeeper not back from holiday until next week and the player expected to be unveiled with Jamie O'Hara in the next few days, it remains to be seen whether De Vries is the new man to be unveiled.

Preston's Andy Lonergan and Reading's Adam Federici are also among the custodians Wolves have been looking at in the wake of Marcus Hahnemann's exit after his contract expired.

Like the man he could be challenging at Wolves – Wayne Hennessey – De Vries' strength is his distribution, which is seen as a key part of Swansea's possession game.

But he is also vocal, commanding and an excellent shot-stopper and played an influential role in Swansea's run to promotion via the Championship play-off final, where they beat Reading 4-2 last month.

De Vries has barely missed a game in his four years in south Wales, making 178 League appearances after joining from Dunfermline.

In 2009-10, he overtook Roger Freestone's club record for most clean sheets in a season after recording 25 shut-outs.

Sources say one-club man Lonergan, who was a £1million target for Albion last summer, will definitely leave Preston this summer after 208 league appearances.

The Deepdale club are desperate to slash the wage bill following relegation to League One.
