Injury-troubled keeper Carl Ikeme is in line for a new Wolves deal this summer amid mounting speculation about his future.

The talented home-grown shot-stopper celebrated his 25th birthday this week still waiting to get his career in full swing because of the combined effect of fitness problems and limited opportunities at Molineux.

He enters the last year of his current Wolves deal next season eyeing the chance to carry the challenge to established No.1 Wayne Hennessey following the departure of American Marcus Hahnemann.

Wolves are seeking a "Third Man" for the department and have targeted signing a keeper equally able to challenge the established pecking order in Mick McCarthy's squad.

But, if Ikeme can confirm with a robust showing in pre-season that his fitness problems are behind him, Wolves will offer the Sutton Coldfield-born academy graduate a new deal to once again nail his colours to the gold and black mast.
