Teenage Wolves left-back Jamie Reckord has joined League Two club Northampton on loan until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old, who has yet to play for the first team, becomes the latest signing of new Cobblers boss Gary Johnson, who took over last week.
Reckord turned professional with Wolves last summer and has mainly played for the reserves this season but, with many of his team-mates from the development squad farmed out to get first-team experience, has been allowed to further his education away from the club.
The Wolverhampton-born England age group international, who turns 19 on Wednesday, will now get his first taste of competitive football at the Sixfields Stadium.
And Johnson claims his new capture could have been playing in the Championship had things panned out differently.
He said: "Jamie is primarily a left-back and he was very close to joining Swansea on deadline day in January.
"He's not played a league game yet but I've been after him for a little while when I was at Bristol City and then Peterborough.
"He is a very athletic, strong player with power and pace and they have got very high hopes for him at Wolves."
