16.55: Final whistle at Banks's Stadium. Another blank for Walsall as they draw 0-0 at home to Rochdale, with Jimmy Walker the star man keeping their second clean sheet under Dean Smith. A point is not enough to take them out of the League One relegation zone as they are three goals worse off than 20th placed Swindon.

16.53: Final whistle at Villa. 4-1 to the home side in their highest tally since the 5-2 win over Burnley a year ago. There seems little chance of Villa being caught as they sit five points clear of the relegation zone.

16.52: Final whistle at Molineux. A great win for Mick's men against a Blackpool side who did not resemble the outfit who beat Spurs 3-1 on Tuesday night. Their rise out of the bottom three at the expense of Albion will be a further boost.

16.51: Red card A terrible week for Kiwi Ryan Nelsen gets worse as he is sent off at Villa Park for a second yellow with his side 4-1 down.

16.48: Wolves 4 Blackpool 0 Ebanks-Blake gets his second following good work from Stephen Ward. When did Wolves last win 4-0 in the top flight? That further improves the goal difference situation. Albion, Monday will be your chance to respond.

16.46: Make that 4-0 to Man U. Wolves are in 17th place with 28 points from 28 games, with a goal difference of -16, Albion sit a spot below on 28 points from 27 games, with -17 goal difference. Matt Jarvis puts one over as Wolves look to improve on those stats.

16.42: Wigan are now 3-0 down at home to Man Utd so unless Blackpool score, Albion will slip into the relegation zone and Wolves will swap places. Until Monday at least.

16.40: Aston Villa 4 Blackburn 1 Ashley Young scores his eighth of the season to restore the three goal advantage, after being found by fellow goalscorer Downing. Come on, Saddlers. You're the only ones without a goal locally.

16.39: Walsall are living dangerously. Rochdale are creating the chances, with two more putting the home side under pressure, but it stays 0-0.

16.38: Aston Villa 3 Blackburn 1 Kalinic hits one from distance which strikes Richard Dunne and hits the net. A rare negative for Villa on a positive afternoon.

16.36:Wolves 3 Blackburn 0 Wolves are out of the bottom three! Sylvan Ebanks-Blake steers the ball from Kevin Doyle on the right past the keeper. He could not miss from six yards. But if things stay as they are, with 3-0 and a Wigan defeat, Wolves will go out of the relegation spots at the expense of..... Albion!

16.34: Another Jamie O'Hara effort, this one goes wide but the former Arsenal trainee is clearly looking to kill off the game.

16.26: At the Banks's Stadium, Matty Dunn's header for the visitors goes wide. Walsall not had a shot on target in the second half.

16.22: Aston Villa 3 Blackburn 0 Stewart Downing runs 50 yards and scores after being released by Ashley Young. Game over.

16.20: Aston Villa 2 Blackburn 0 A Marc Albrighton cross is pushed into the Blackburn net by defender Hanley to bring an own goal.

16.13: Wolves 2 Blackpool 0 Jamie O'Hara places the ball with his left foot from 20 yards into the far corner. Nothing the keeper can do as the Spurs loanee picks his spot beautifully. Without Charlie Adam this afternoon and reduced to 10 men, a Blackpool comeback is looking unlikely.

16.06: Aston Villa 1 Blackburn 0 Ashley Young scores from the spot to give Villa an immediate advantage against Blackburn, sending keeper Paul Robinson the wrong way.

15.43: Red card Ex-Blues striker DJ Campbell is off for the visitors after he pushes two hands into the face of Richard Stearman following a minor tussle. His reaction means the ref has no choice but to send him off and Blackpool are behind and down to 10 men. Ian Holloway may well have a "comedy" response to that one but he can have no complaints.

15.41: Nathan Baker is off with an injury for Villa, so Fabian Delph comes on.

15.40: Elsewhere, it is Everton 2 Sunderland 0, Wigan 0 Man U 1 and Newcastle 1 Bolton 1.

15.38: More than 40 tribute comments for Dean Richards so far on the main story about his tragic early death. A range of non-Wolves fans have contributed, including Newcastle, Spurs and Norwich supporters, as well as Albion fans. Such sad news has unified football supporters - 36 is so young.

15.36: Luke Varney shoots wide for the visitors, who have not created many chances yet. Adam Hammill makes way for Kevin Foley, possibly due to injury as he has made an exciting impact in the first half. A future fans' favourite there.
