Wolves goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann has declared his wish to stay at Molineux until he is 40.

The 38-year-old, who signed a one-year contract in the summer, had been reported as saying he wanted to end his career in the United States at Seattle Sounders in the Major League.

But, while the American would seriously consider a return to his hometown club at some point, Hahnemann wants to play in the Premier League for another two years after what he describes as one of the most rewarding times of his career.

He said: "I'd like to stay two more years if I was given the opportunity. I've been playing as well as I ever have and I'm as fit as I've ever been.

"I feel good enough to carry on at this level for another couple of years. There's no reason why I want to leave.

"Me and my family really like it here and the set-up, the guys and the staff are great.

"Everything has been top notch since I've been here. I'm just waiting to see what happens.

"I can't stay if they don't want me so we'll just see if they're going to offer me something. It's been one of the best 12 months of my career.

"Everything has been pretty remarkable since coming here and getting the chance to keep playing regularly."
