Ronald Zubar is on course to hand Wolves another defensive boost by returning to full training next week.
Hot on the heels of Steven Mouyokolo's return to fitness, manager Mick McCarthy has revealed Zubar could be only a fortnight away from a reserve game.
Zubar has been restricted to just 43 minutes' Premier League action this season, after having surgery to remove an ankle spur which followed a thigh injury and a twisted ankle in pre-season.
In the meantime, Kevin Foley has reclaimed the right-back role he performed so impressively to earn the Player of the Year award in 2008-09 before Zubar's arrival.
But McCarthy revealed it won't be long before the 25-year-old is challenging again.
The Wolves boss said: "He'll be back sooner rather than later.
"I said he'd be four weeks from the operation and it's been two weeks already since then, so he might be back playing in two weeks.
"I would hope he would be back in full training next week and then there's reserve games."
McCarthy has mapped out a plan for the remainder of Zubar's rehabilitation.
The manager added: "He's out there kicking balls at the moment and he's progressing well.
"He's doing his rehabilitation, but as far for planting his foot down and kicking, he's fine, so tackling is the next thing for him."
Wolves' other injured defender, Jody Craddock, is also progressing with his hip injury and remains on course to return to contention for the Bolton game in 11 days' time.
McCarthy said: "Jody is progressing well. I can't give a time when he'll be fully fit but I spoke to him yesterday morning and he seems happy enough with the way he's coming along.
"He's been running and he's doing rehab work in the gym to keep his fitness up.
"I said at the time that I thought we'd be looking at the Bolton game and I still think that might be the case.
"He'll need a reserve game before we can get him back to contention for the first team."
