Andrew Surman's £1.2m departure to Norwich is set to kickstart the summer sales at Wolves.

The 23-year-old midfielder sealed a three-year deal at Carrow Road last night as Wolves got their money back on the fee they paid Southampton last summer.

Wolves could still sign one or two more players before the season kicks off – Guirane N'Daw, the powerful Senegal holding midfielder, is the other main target on the radar with the club prepared to pay the £1.75m asking price.

And Aruna Dindane's surprise revelation that his move to Qatar has not gone through has also alerted Wolves to his availability again, despite the £7m signing of Steven Fletcher.

But for now, and with around £17m spent on five signings, the focus has now switched to outgoings as the club look to balance the books.

And the club are looking for others to join £500,000 Chris Iwelumo, who joined Burnley, Surman and released trio George Friend, Daniel Jones and Mark Little through the exit door.

Wayne Hennessey, Greg Halford, Matt Hill, Stefan Maierhofer and Andy Keogh could be on their way.

It is understood Liverpool lodged a £2m bid for Hennessey before Rafael Benitez's departure as they sought back-up for Pepe Reina, and the keeper is known to be unhappy at his exile from the team.

Chief executive Jez Moxey said: "We've got to work at getting some players out – we've got a few out and I'm sure we'll get a few more out of the door.

"We've got January to think about and we can only play 25 players.

"We can supplement with Under-21 players, but I think Mick is very satisfied with the way the team is shaping up."

Of the prospect of more signings, Moxey added: "We will maybe sign one more but there's nothing guaranteed and there's nothing really 'live' at the moment."

As for Dindane, he said: Dindane not gone to Qatar:

"That's news to us. We've signed Steven Fletcher so I think we're satisfied with that.

"Dindane is a good player and we were very interested in him, so who knows?

"But he's not on the immediate agenda for us, no."

N'Daw, 26, joined St Etienne on a permanent basis at the end of the season as a condition of his season-long loan from Nantes when the former retained Ligue 1 status.

But it is understood they have bitten off more than they can chew and are struggling to keep him.

Wolves are monitoring the player's situation in France and are prepared to firm up their interest.

And Wolves are still not ruling out the possibility of returning for Chelsea's Michael Mancienne, who looks set to continue his long struggle for regular first team football if he remains at Stamford Bridge.
