Luton Town boss Rob Edwards issues rallying cry ahead of West Brom clash

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards believes his side are capable of turning their fortunes around after a wretched return to the Championship ahead of Albion's visit to Kenilworth Road this evening.

The Hatters have collected just three wins from their opening 12 games (losing seven, drawing twice) and sit third from bottom in the Championship following their relegation from the top-flight last term.

Town have lost back-to-back games against Sunderland and Coventry City respectively but Edwards says he takes sole responsibility for the poor start.

He told Luton Today: "I hope we are (in a false position). It's a difficult one to say and for me to answer when I'm feeling like this and we've just lost another game.

"I believe in this group of players and they've shown in the past, a lot of them are still here who got promoted out of this league.

"I believe in them but ultimately we've got to show it. It's two good performances but ultimately one win and two defeats.

"Today the manner of it, being in a good position, but like I say, I own it. There'll be frustration and questions asked, it's no-one else's fault, it's me."

Town are already set to be without Amari'i Bell, Teden Mengi, Reece Burke, Mads Anderson and Reuell Walters.

And those selection issues have been deepened by the suspension of Tom Holmes and Alfie Doughty.

Holmes was sent off for two bookable offences following Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Coventry while Doughty reached five yellow cards for the campaign with a first half caution.

"God knows what we'll do on Friday now. I'll be surprised (if any of the injured players are back) - we'll see," he continued.
