It is eight months since a march outside The Hawthorns against controlling shareholder Guochuan Lai

The importance of this period on Albion’s future cannot be understated. The critical outcome will arrive in the boardroom, and not on the grass, but there’s no doubt success on the pitch under Corberan is a timely boost for the club’s attractiveness as an asset.

The bigger picture, though, is we are heading into a critical few months.

The need for a takeover at The Hawthorns grows more important by the week.

Exact timeframes are unclear, but when it comes to the £20million loan sourced from MSD Holdings to get through this season and how long those funds will last, the clock is ticking.

What happens when those funds are no longer available is not worth thinking about.

There is, however, a growing optimism and encouragement around talks taking place.
