A lack of first half urgency - again

It is something we have seen on a handful of occasions this season, a slow first period with a lack of urgency.

It was the same at Bristol City and it is an area of frustration for Albion fans, and I'd guess Carlos Corberan himself.

I've said it before, when Albion play fast flowing attacking football and try to break lines and play forward, they can blow teams away. Preston being the obvious example.

But when the pace is slowed down, that is when mistakes can creep in, as seen yesterday with a lack of ball retention in the first half.

There were reasons for this. Plymouth were no mugs, defended well and pressed well. But I think we can all say Albion were, at times, below par.

Did Carlos get the selection correct?

The selection was one that left fans with questions. Nathaniel Chalobah coming back in was the contentious one, but he did fine. Arguably, on a drab afternoon, he was one of Albion's better performers.
