Ally Robertson: West Brom survived window - now it’s time to progress
With the first month in the books and the transfer window closed, this next period is when the season truly gets up and running.
There is no more uncertainty for players. Everyone knows where they are.
No-one else is coming in, no-one is going. For Carlos Corberan, who knows precisely what he has to work with, it’s all now about settling down and trying to get on a decent run of form.
The final days of the window were quiet in terms of arrivals, which was expected. They were also quiet in terms of departures, which was pleasing.
My concern if someone like Brandon Thomas-Asante had left close to the deadline was how he would have been replaced. If players are desperate to go and pushing for a move then okay, you might have to sell them.
But with Albion limited in what they could do in terms of incomings, it put a greater importance into holding on to what we already had.
