Potential gems as West Brom look down for inspiration
Albion are still waiting to confirm their first transfer moves of the summer with head coach Carlos Corberan looking to refresh his ranks for the new season.
The Baggies will look at mostly loans and free transfers this summer and any transfer fees will come as a result of player sales.
In the second part of this feature, we look at examples of players who have performed well lower down the leagues and may have caught Albion’s eye.
Leif Davis
Corberan knows all about this exciting youngster. Former Leeds youth left-back Davis, 23, played under the Spaniard in Yorkshire, where the academy coach helped develop his game.
Davis swapped Leeds for Ipswich last summer and tore it up in League One, registering 14 assists from left-back, he was top of the whoscored.com ratings for the division as his side won promotion.
He has a deal to run at Portman Road. If, as expected, Albion are interested in bolstering their left side and decide to take a look at Davis, a move would require a healthy fee from any sales.
Owen Moxon
Dropping down a level to two central midfielders who shone in League Two last term. Moxon, 25, was top of the class in the fourth tier and played a central role in Carlisle’s promotion via the play-offs.
