£7m Dara O'Shea sale gives West Brom breathing room

Albion will not be forced to sell players on the cheap after banking £7million from Dara O’Shea’s move to Burnley.

The Baggies’ first priority in the transfer window remains outgoings as they look to balance the books.

But last week’s sale of O’Shea has eased the immediate financial pressure and means Albion will be able to demand close to market value for players targeted by other clubs, rather than having to accept any low-ball offers.

The club’s coffers are set to be boosted further by the sale of 16-year-old Jamaldeen Jimoh to Villa for a fee believed to be upwards of £1million, which is expected to go through later this week.
