Clint McCormick has not missed a match outside of Covid since 2003

The 40-year-old, who lives in Brierley Hill, last month marked 20 years without missing a competitive Albion fixture.

The sensational sequence – only factoring in games not behind-closed-doors due to the Covid pandemic – has included 882 matches, 440 of which were at The Hawthorns and 442 on the road.

Clint has worked out they include 330 wins, saw 249 players pull on the blue and white stripes and include 25 Baggies managers or head coaches.

He watched Albion in 76 different stadia over the two decades.

He even staged two fake funeral visits to cheer his beloved Baggies.

The question is, how?

The energy accounts manager tells the Express & Star: “It was a case that I enjoyed going and it became routine more and more, it was like ‘if we’re playing then that’s where I’ll be’.

“I’ve been fortunate because I’ve not had big things going on to make me miss matches, the closest I came to missing a game was being best man at my best friend’s wedding. I met David getting the coach to and from Stourbridge to the game, we got knocked out by Colchester in the cup!

“His marriage was the first weekend in August, we were in the Premier League (2015/16) but it started a week early because of a major tournament, I think, and I had to miss Man City at home on the Saturday, but it got moved to the Monday for Sky – I was absolutely buzzing!”
