West Bromwich Albion's Mbaye Diagne

Sam Johnstone

The keeper made a superb stop to keep out a Christian Benteke strike early in the second half. Other than that, though, Johnstone had very little to do.

Authoritative 7

Darnell Furlong

Part of a back four that defended well overall. But Furlong effectively cost Albion a point by giving away a needless penalty.

Silly 4

Dara O’Shea

Another confident and composed showing from the Republic of Ireland international. Palace tried to be direct and put O’Shea and Kyle Bartley under pressure with long balls – but both stood up to the challenge well.

Honest 7

Kyle Bartley

Bartley has made huge strides forward since Sam Allardyce became head coach. And he continued that here with another commanding display.

Leader 7

Conor Townsend

Most of Albion’s best play came down the left side with Townsend linking up well with Matheus Pereira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles. With his crossing ability, though, Albion needed him to get forward more.

Gritty 7

Okay Yokuslu

Once again Albion’s standout performer, Yokuslu is everything you want in a holding midfielder. The Turkish international reads the game well, has an excellent passing range while his footwork is also exceptional. Destined to star in the Premier League next season.

Tremendous 8

Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Maitland-Niles covered a lot of ground and protected the defence well. But again his final ball let him down. Eager to prove himself as a central midfielder, the Arsenal loanee needs to show more creativity.

Energetic 6

Conor Gallagher

Always tenacious, Gallagher zipped around the pitch to ensure Palace’s players got very little time on the ball. There is a chance, though, that he and Maitland-Niles are just too similar.

Industrious 6

Matt Phillips

The winger sums up Albion at the minute. The work ethic is there and he is doing the defensive side of the game well. But he does not look like scoring or registering an assist.

Frustrating 5

Matheus Pereira

There were times when he looked bright on the ball. But Pereira is unquestionably having a dip in form. His eye for a pass has been missing in recent weeks while his crossing has also been poor.

No sparkle 5

Mbaye Diagne

The striker held the ball up well. But he grew increasingly frustrated at his lack of service. Just as frustrating for fans is the amount of times he is caught offside.

Ineffective 5

Substitutes

Hal Robson-Kanu (Pereira 63) 6, Robert Snodgrass (Phillips 71) 6. Not used: Button, Peltier, Ajayi, Livermore, Robinson, Grant, Diangana.
