The 23-year-old joined the Baggies from Huddersfield during the summer in a deal that could eventually be worth £15million.

Grant netted 19 times for the Terriers last season, but he has so far managed just one goal for Albion – with that coming in a 1-1 draw at Brighton back in October.

The forward hasn’t been helped by the Baggies’ overall performances, with the team having struggling to create chances since returning to the Premier League.

But following the arrival of new head coach Sam Allardyce, Grant is hoping he can kick on.

“Results haven’t gone the way we’d have liked them to but there’s a good bunch of lads here and I feel they they will come,” the former Charlton striker said.

“It’s a massive step-up being in the Premier League.

“You might not get many changes in a game and teams will punish you if you are not at it.

“The league is massively different to the ones I have played in before.

“But I’d still like to get into double figures this season, you just have to take each game as it comes.

“Being critical of myself, I feel I could have put a few more chances away this year. That is something I can work at.”

Meanwhile, ex-Everton striker Oumar Niasse says he would love to join Albion.

The 30-year-old joined the Toffees £13.5million deal while Allardyce was in charge.

But after loans with Hull and Cardiff, Niasse was released on a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

“If Big Sam is interested, I’d be ready to jump in my car and drive to Birmingham,” Niasse said.

“I know with Big Sam I have a good relationship. He knows how I am, he knows me personally. That can be a very good thing and, to be honest, I’m open.”
