A last gasp goal from Harry Kane broke Albion hearts after Tottenham snatched an undeserved win at The Hawthorns.

Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min and West Bromwich Albion's Semi Ajayi

The Baggies – lining up in a 3-5-2 system – were the better team for long spells and at the very least should have taken a point and on another day could have had all three.

But in the end Kane proved to be the difference with the striker's 150th Premier League goal decisive.

Here we rate how the Baggies players performed.

SAM JOHNSTONE

The glovesman has arguably been Albion's best player since they returned to the Premier League – and he made a great save to deny Carlos Vinícius here. But he dallied instead of coming and collecting Matt Doherty's cross. And that allowed Harry Kane to score. 6

SEMI AJAYI

A fantastic performance from the centre-back up against a world class trio of forwards. Ajayi made one outstanding block to deny Son Heung-min. He also used his pace and athleticism to shackle the threat of Kane and co. 9

KYLE BARTLEY

Like Ajayi, Bartley kept the Spurs attack quiet for long periods. But he needed to make life more difficult for Kane for the winner – with the header far too easy for the striker. 6

DARA O’SHEA

His long diagonals add so much to the team. The defender also went close with a header from a corner in what, overall, was a solid display. 7

DARNELL FURLONG

The 25-year-old looks so much more effective when deployed as a wing-back. His battle with Sergio Reguilon was key to this match and it was Furlong who won it. The defender also went close with a header and sent in one delicious cross for Karlan Grant. 8

CONOR TOWNSEND

Like Furlong, Townsend benefits from having an extra defender behind him in the wing-back role. His delivery is also excellent – which begs the question why doesn't he take corners – with Albion's often poor. 7

JAKE LIVERMORE

The skipper did his best work off the ball and stopped Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko from getting any rhythm. Booked. 7

CONOR GALLAGHER

What a signing the youngster is turning out to be. The complete midfielder, Gallagher works hard, gets stuck in and also moves the ball well. Was unlucky not to score here when his brilliant 25-yard drive clipped the post. 9

FILIP KROVINOVIC

Was a physical presence in midfield and, overall, moved the ball well. There were times, though, when he picked the wrong pass. 7

CALLUM ROBINSON

A lively display from the striker who did well linking the midfield and attack. Robinson sent in one cross that Eric Dier excellently headed away just in front of the goalline. But it was the forward's movement and ability to find space that ensured he caused Spurs problems all afternoon. Surprisingly subbedwith 20 minutes to play. 8

KARLAN GRANT

The forward had some bright moments but needed to impact the game more. Had one good chance when Hugo Lloris parried a Furlong header but he fired wide. 6

Substitutes

Grady Diangana (Robinson 67) 5, Matt Phillips (Grant 84), Kyle Edwards (Livermore 90). Not used: Button, Peltier, Gibbs, Sawyers.
