West Brom closing in on 'club record' deal for Grady Diangana

Albion are aiming to complete the permanent capture of Grady Diangana in what is potentially a club record deal.

The Baggies have reached an agreement with West Ham on an initial price of £12million for the 22-year-old, who played a key role in helping them win promotion from the Championship last season while on loan from the Hammers.

But it is understood the deal includes significant add-ons which, if met, would take the final fee beyond the £17m Albion eventually paid for Nacer Chadli.

Even then the transfer would still represent a huge coup for the Baggies, who were told Diangana would cost them a minimum of £20m earlier in the summer.

Boss Slaven Bilic had been eager to bring the England under-21 international back to The Hawthorns after he scored six goals and registered eight assists last season.

Albion will now look to conclude the deal in the coming days as they ramp up their transfer business, with the season now less than a fortnight away.

Matheus Pereira, another star of the promotion campaign, has already joined on a permanent deal from Sporting Lisbon.

Albion are, meanwhile, understood to have had an offer for Huddersfield striker Karlan Grant rejected.

Talks are ongoing with Benfica over another loan deal for Filip Krovinovic, while the Baggies are set to complete the signing of goalkeeper David Button from Brighton in the next 48 hours.
