Football in England has been suspended for the past three months due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

But while the Championship season is set to resume on June 20 – it will do so without supporters as the country continues to work to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

To ensure season ticket holders aren’t out of pocket for the money they have paid, the Baggies have announced four refund options.

Option one allows fans to trade their season tickets for an iFollow pass that will enable them to stream the nine Championship games Albion still have to play.

Supporters will also be given a ticket for the first cup match played with fans in attendance.

Option two allows fans to donate the money they have paid to the club as a gift – with the Baggies while continuing to operate during the tough trading conditions caused by COVID-19.

Option three gives season-ticket holders pro-rata credit towards their season ticket or match day tickets for the 2020/21 campaign.

Option four is a full refund for the five games Albion are still due to play at The Hawthorns this season.

Chief executive Mark Jenkins revealed a number of season ticket holders have already been in touch to say they are happy for the club to keep their money instead of being issued with a refund.

Jenkins said that money will be a huge boost for the club.

But he hopes all fans are happy with the four refund options available.

“We are incredibly grateful for the emails and messages we have received from our season-ticket holders wishing to help in this way and I cannot stress how valuable it will be to our club going forward,” he said.

“We have so far negotiated three difficult months without football as well as can be expected but I do not underestimate the problems that are still ahead for every club, including ours.

“We must find a way to continue operating while deprived of significant income.

“Equally, we are also very aware that this pandemic crisis has left other fans facing real financial hardship and we obviously recognise and understand their needs as well.

“Hopefully, there will be an option within this package that suits everyone.”

Fans who have purchased season tickets via direct debit can also select any of the four options.

But they have to keep up their payments with direct debit firm V12.

Supports have until 11.59pm on June 16 to pick their preferred option. Selections can be made by visiting wbatickets.co.uk or calling 0121 227 2227.
