The Welshman is 4/1 with some bookmakers to be the man tasked with taking over at the Bet365 Stadium once again, potentially setting up a huge first game in charge of the Potters against Albion.

Stoke sacked Jones after nine months in charge, with the Staffordshire outfit 23rd in the Championship, above Barnsley on goal difference.

Pulis previously had two spells as Stoke boss, guiding them to the top flight in his second stint as boss between 2006 and 2013.

Following his time at Crystal Palace, Pulis made the move to The Hawthorns in 2015. He split opinion amongst the fans in the Black Country, but did help Albion to a 10th placed finish before the club's disastrous 2017/18 season.

He was sacked in November 2017 having endured a run of just four wins in 22 Premier League games with Albion occupying 17th position in the table.

Alan Pardew replaced him, only to guide the Baggies to near-certain relegation - which despite a spirited run under Darren Moore was confirmed late in the season.

Pulis went on to take the hot seat at Middlesbrough, losing over two legs in the 2018 Championship play-off semi-final to Aston Villa.

He departed The Riverside at the end of last season.

Stoke are expected to act fast in their appointment of a successor for Jones, with Michael O'Neill and Chris Hughton the hot favourites at 3/1 to step in. David Moyed joins Pulis at 4/1 with Neil Harris 6/1 to take over. Former Albion boss Pardew is 20/1 whilst Gary Megson is 50/1.

West Brom play Stoke at the Bet365 Stadium on Monday, kick-off scheduled for 8pm.
