Former West Brom midfielder James Morrison considering retirement
Former West Brom midfielder James Morrison has admitted that he's considering retirement as his search for a new club continues.
Morrison departed West Brom at the end of last season following the play-off semi-final defeat to bitter rivals Aston Villa, and has yet to sign a deal with a new club.
The 33-year-old spent 12 years with the Baggies, but is now finding a new club at a similar level hard to come by.
"There have been a couple of League One opportunities, but I don't really want to go down the leagues," Morrison said, speaking with BBC Scotland.
"There's not been that many offers to be honest. So it's getting to the time when there's a big decision to be made, so that's where I am at."
The midfielder struggled with a serious achilles injury during Albion's relegation season, admitting that he 'broke down four times' during his recovery, before finally returning to action with the Baggies last season.
He wasn't offered a new deal with the club following the campaign's conclusion, and confirmed that he's now an Albion supporter following his exit.
Despite being fully fit, he has yet to find a club which suits him - but is not 'desperate' to get back into the sport if the right opportunity doesn't present itself.
"This is probably the best I've felt in a long time with my body - probably because I'm not putting it through the stress every day." he told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.
"My missus said to me the other day 'I've never seen you this happy before', so that's one positive.
"I'm fit, but obviously the last couple of seasons I've had terrible injuries, which is probably one of the reasons why I'm not desperate to get back into football really,
"A lot of injuries has took its toll on the mental state and the love of the game."
