West Brom approach West Ham over loan deal for Grady Diangana
Albion have approached West Ham about a loan deal for 21-year-old winger Grady Diangana.
The Baggies are looking to bolster their attacking options in the final two days of the transfer window, and are keen to bring in the highly-rated youngster.
Diangana made 17 appearances in the Premier League last season, starting six games.
He signed his first professional contract when current Baggies boss Slaven Bilic was in charge of the Hammers, but made his senior debut in September 2018.
An England under-20 international, it hoped he will travel to the Midlands and complete a loan move in the next 24 hours.
However, Derby County are also interested in offering a loan move for the 21-year-old.
Albion's interest in Diangana does not end their pursuit of Sporting winger Matheus Pereira.
The Baggies are still keen to bring the Brazilian 22-year-old in on loan, despite protracted talks with the Portuguese club over the past few weeks.
Sporting were keen to insert an obligation to buy Pereira next summer for £9million into the deal, but the Baggies were not willing to agree to it.
Albion are still hoping for a breakthrough in negotiations, allowing him to complete the move.
Bilic stated at the weekend that he wants four new faces before tomorrow's 5pm deadline, and Albion's priority remains up front.
They will be working frantically in the last 24 hours to try and sign a goalscorer to help plug the gap left by Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.
The Baggies were keen on Basel striker Albian Ajeti, but he is joining West Ham instead in a deal worth £8million.
Albion were also looking at centre-halves earlier in the week, but their priority is currently focused on the top end of the pitch.
