Ipswich Town sign West Brom's released goalkeeper Adam Przybek
Ipswich Town have signed former Albion academy product Adam Przybek on a two-year deal.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper had been at the Baggies since he was seven years old, but was released at the end of last season.
League One Ipswich have subsequently snapped him up after he impressed on trial.
“I’m delighted and I can’t wait to get going,” said Przybek. “This is a new challenge for me having been at West Brom since I was seven, but one I’m very much looking forward to.”
Przybek is a Wales under-19 international who has previously spent time on loan at Rushall Olympic.
Long-serving academy goalkeeping coach Mark Naylor, who celebrates 20 years at the club this summer, said: “Wishing Adam all the best as he continues his journey at Ipswich Town.
“Worked together for 12 years, displays the same bravery and commitment now as he did as a seven year old! Good luck.”
Meanwhile, Albion youngsters Sam Field and Kyle Edwards have already been knocked out of the Toulon Tournament with England’s under-20s.
Field and Edwards both started the first game against Japan, but two defeats from two for Paul Simpson’s men means the defending champions will not be progressing beyond the group stage.
England’s final group match is against Chile on Friday.
Defender Dara O’Shea is still in the tournament with the Republic of Ireland, and helped his side to a 4-1 win over China in their opening game.
They face Mexico tomorrow before playing Bahrain on Sunday.
Albion's under-23s are playing Leamington Spa in a pre-season friendly at 3pm, Saturday, July 27.
