Tom Lawrence escapes punishment for alleged dive against West Brom
Derby County midfielder Tom Lawrence will not face any retrospective action following his alleged dive against West Brom on the final day of the Championship season.
The 25-year-old went down under Kyle Bartley's challenge, winning the Rams a penalty at Pride Park - but video replays appeared to show only minimal contact between the players.
Harry Wilson went on to score from the spot to give Derby a 3-1 lead, sealing their place in the final play-off spot with the eventual victory.
The FA reviewed the decision, and then ruled that the Welshman had not deceived referee Tim Robinson into awarding the spot kick.
Albion fans had called for a review of the decision on social media, likening it to Patrick Bamford's actions against Aston Villa, in which he tumbled to the floor during an altercation with Anwar El-Ghazi, only for replays to show no contact between the players.
El Ghazi was shown a straight red card following the clash, which was rescinded following a review of the incident.
Bamford was handed a two-game ban, ruling him out of the first leg of Leeds' play-off clash with Frank Lampard's side, and their final day defeat to Ipswich.
Lawrence would have been at risk of a similar punishment, which could have seen him miss both semi-final games.
