Dwight Gayle wins West Brom's first player of the season award
Dwight Gayle has picked up the first gong of the season after the Disabled Supporters' Club named him their player of the year.
The striker on loan from Newcastle is joint-top scorer this season with Jay Rodriguez on 21 goals.
And he met more than 100 fans from the club at it's annual celebration day at The Hawthorns.
“They welcomed us here with open arms, it was a fantastic day," said Gayle.
“The fans really enjoyed it and the boys had big smiles on their faces so it’s a nice gesture for us to show our support back to them and to thank them."
Gayle was grateful for the recognition of the award.
“It’s a massive achievement for me," he said. "To see that what I have done on the field over the year has been appreciated so generously by our supporters is great.
"I know that we need to push on now and hopefully we can finish the season on a real high."
