The team, which are run by club charity The Albion Foundation, have finished top of the Wheelchair Football Association’s Muscular Dystrophy Premiership for the second year running.

They clinched this title with a dramatic 2-0 win over second-place Aspire PFC in their final game of the season thanks to a brace from Marcus Harrison.

“I am extremely proud of what we have achieved over the last two seasons,” said head coach and captain Chris Gordon.

“With hard work and dedication the squad have really developed and now have the honour of being the best powerchair football team in the country.”

Albion won 20 of their 22 games, losing just once.

Their first league title last year was ten years in the making and they are reaping the rewards from their hard work.

With the season done and dusted, Chris’ attention has already turned to the 2019/20 campaign.

“Winning this title means that we have now qualified for next year’s Champions League,” he said.

“I am really excited to see the quality of our football next season and would like to think we could win the treble by winning the WFA Premier League, the WFA Cup and the Champions League.”

Assistant coach Matt Bodin added: “This team is very special; we’ve got so much talent in the squad.

“We’ve got four England internationals with another one or two that are on the brink.

“I would say that we’ve got a team that is the future of powerchair football.”
