Darren Moore trying to build a new culture at West Brom

Darren Moore believes the brand of football he is trying to develop at the Baggies was evident against Tony Pulis's Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Albion lost 3-2 to former boss Pulis thanks to two goals in the final 15 minutes from Boro substitute Britt Assombalonga turned the game on its head.

The Baggies were on top for large parts, and had 19 shots as well as two-thirds of possession, but individual errors gifted their visitors two goals.

However, Moore says he can take positives from the performance.

"We are trying to set a culture and a DNA at the club," he said. "It’s clearly evident what we’re trying to do.

"That’s why we tried to break them down. We fashioned chances. We had over 20 final third entries in the first half.

"The intent was there for us to win the game bit they were resolute.

"They defended deep, got men in front of the goal so it was always going to be a tough afternoon.

"I’m disappointed with the result, but in terms of the game and how we are I’ll take positives from it and move on."

Moore kept faith in the team that beat Bolton Wanderers last time out in the Championship but deadline day signing Jacob Murphy came off the bench in the second half for his Albion debut

Fellow new arrivals Jefferson Montero and Stefan Johansen didn't feature, and cannot play in the FA Cup fourth round replay against Brighton on Wednesday because they were signed after the original tie.

But Moore is looking forward to starting their integration process in training today and hopes they will be in contention for Saturday's trip to Stoke City.

"They’ll be wonderful assets for us," he said. "We’ll settle them down, get into roles and the responsibilities of what’s expected of them in and out of possession.

"They bring a different dimension to us a team. They’ve not been here long.

"The only way they get it is from work on the training ground.

"Once we get them in on Monday onwards we’ll start working with them. In terms of what's expected of them. "
