West Brom employ Paul Williams as opposition scout
Darren Moore has employed former Wolves and Birmingham City coach Paul Williams as an opposition scout for the Baggies.
Williams was a youth development coach at Molineux between 2006 and 2008 and spent part of last season as Steve Cotterill’s assistant first team coach at St Andrew’s.
He was caretaker manager of Nottingham Forest for 10 games in 2016 and has also managed England Under-20s.
Williams left Blues in March when Cotterill was sacked, and this season he has been visiting Albion’s opponents prior to their games before relaying information back to Moore and his coaching staff.
The 47-year-old, who played for Derby and Coventry, has watched Millwall ahead of tomorrow’s match at The Hawthorns.
Albion have won five games in a row at home in all competitions while the Lions come to The Hawthorns without a win in their last five league games.
But Moore, who took his UEFA Pro Licence with Neil Harris, is not expecting an easy ride.
“Neil Harris has done a fantastic job,” said Moore. “I’m looking forward to catching up with him, what he’s done with Millwall is turn that club around.
“Don’t look at this season, look at last season. He’s made the club solid, and that’s down to his tremendous work.
“It’s going to be another tough game. Every game in the Championship comes with it’s own problems and hurdles and Millwall is no different.
“They’re a good outfit and they represent Neil and his organisation. We know they’re a stern test.”
