Moore enjoyed an unbeaten April as caretaker boss, guiding his team to home draws with Swansea and Liverpool and stunning away wins at Manchester United and Newcastle United.

He has beaten two Champions League winning managers and kept the club's slim survival hopes alive three weeks in a row.

The 44-year-old has now been nominated for manager of the month alongside Everton boss Sam Alladryce, Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and United boss Mourinho - who he beat at Old Trafford.

When he was asked if it was proof that he was doing a good job in charge, Moore said: "I will leave that down to you guys to say whether you feel I have done a good job or not a good job.

"All I am doing is playing my part in a team of people here, I have got the title of the caretaker manager so I am up here speaking on behalf of the football club.

"It’s great to be nominated with those calibre of managers, it really, really is, I am honoured. But I will share that nomination with the everybody here at West Brom.

"The reason I can sit up here and talk about it is because of the tremendous work everybody has done behind the scenes."

Following his remarkable start to life as caretaker boss, Moore has emerged as a candidate for the permanent position.

The board are wary of the differences between the caretaker role and the full-time job, and Moore has refused to reveal whether he wants to be considered.

However, goalkeeper Ben Foster revealed after the Newcastle game that he wanted the former central defender to be handed the reins full-time.

"Support from anywhere is really excellent," said Moore. "To have it from players and staff within goes to show we are supporting each other and will continue to support each other.

"We have echoed that amongst us all, to support each other brings your positive character into work.

"That’s what we have had in recent weeks and what we want to continue for the future at this football club. It can only be a good thing."

But Moore continued to play a straight bat to the questions over the full-time job. Today, he was asked if he would accept the role if it was offered to him.

"You're talking about ifs, I can't go on speculation," he said. "We just continue to work. I know you've got to ask the question and I fully respect that.

"I'll just continue with these six games. It's the fifth game, it's another tough game, we're just focusing on that."

Albion host Tottenham Hotspur at The Hawthorns tomorrow, and will be relegated unless four results go their way.

If Stoke beat Crystal Palace in the early kick-off, relegation will be confirmed before the Baggies play Spurs.

If Albion fail to beat Mauricio Pochettino's men they will be down, and even if they do get all three points, they can still be relegated if Swansea get anything from Bournemouth or Southampton beat Everton.

Moore has everybody available apart from midfielders Gareth Barry and James Morrison, who have both been ruled out for the rest of the season.
