James Shan and Neil Cutler are both in the club’s future plans after impressing under the caretaker boss over the past few weeks.

Shan, who has been at the club for 12 years, has stepped up from the under-23s to help Moore with the first team while Cutler, who joined in February, has expanded his role of goalkeeping coach to include set pieces too.

Moore has already cemented himself in the club’s future plans and is expected to stay on as a coach next season.

That means any new head coach will be asked to inherit existing members of staff into his team, although there will be scope to bring in one or two of their own men too.

“Cutts and Jimmy have been fantastic, both of them,” said Moore. “They’ve been working tirelessly to prepare the team.

“I know them really well. They’re nice men who are excellent at their jobs.

"I certainly hope they stay (next season). With what’s happening this summer we can’t speculate because it would just be speculation.

“But both of those guys still have contracts in the club. They’ve stepped into a position that the club has asked them to do and they’re doing it really really well. Long may that continue.

“They’re two excellent guys to be working alongside and I’m very grateful to them both.”

Now that technical consultant Guiliano Terraneo has got his feet under the table after his arrival two weeks ago, the hunt for a new head coach is under way.

And Moore has faith in Terraneo and chief executive Mark Jenkins to get the right man in.

“One thing I know with Mark is that there will be solid foundations in place,” he said. “We’ve got a wonderful chief executive in place. I’ve got no doubt we’re in good hands with Mark and Guiliano.

"There’s meetings to be had in the future. At those meetings decisions will be made for the goodness of this club. I can’t speculate on those decisions because it would just be speculation.

"But as we draw nearer to the end of the season you’ll probably get more clarity and more picture from the club.”
