The Belgian, who could return to the Albion squad this weekend, is expected to leave this summer once relegation is confirmed.

But the Baggies are set to recuperate the money they spent on their record signing, who cost an initial £13m in the summer of 2016 rising to a potential £18m.

Chadli has only featured three times in the league this season and has been out since December with a thigh injury.

Both he and club captain Jonny Evans are fit and available for the Saturday lunch-time clash with Liverpool, but they are expected to be named on the bench at best.

Caretaker boss Darren Moore is planning to name the same starting XI that stunned Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday.

Chadli still has two years left on his contract but is believed to be keen on a move away from The Hawthorns this summer because he doesn’t want to drop down a division to play in the Championship.

A move to Serie A has been mooted and is currently the most likely.

Last summer he told former head coach Tony Pulis he wanted to leave the club after a row over his decision not to go on a pre-season bootcamp in Austria.

The 28-year-old isn’t the only player who has a release clause in place should the Baggies go down.

Salomon Rondon will be allowed to leave for £16.5m this summer due to a clause in his deal and Evans can go for as little as £3m.

Chadli started life at The Hawthorns in stunning style, scoring four goals in his first five games.

But the former Spurs man has only netted twice since then, and this season has been plagued with injuries.
