Ben Foster

His tremendous one-on-one save denied Lukaku in the first half but even better was his full-stretch save to stop his former team-mate’s header in the second half. Outshone David De Gea in his own backyard. 8/10

Allan Nyom

Kept Alexis Sanchez quiet before doing the same to Anthony Martial. It was unorthodox at times but it worked. 7/10

Craig Dawson

Was lucky not to concede a penalty when he tripped Herrera in the box and should have scored when Brunt’s corner found him at the back post. But he was a constant nuisance at set pieces, had a hand in the goal, and more importantly, defended resolutely at the back. One block from Lingard's shot was particularly memorable. 7/10

Ahmed Hegazi

A man mountain at the back who cleared plenty of crosses. Only caught out of position once, when a deflection took the ball past him, but on the whole he was superb. 7/10

Kieran Gibbs

Was rolled far too easily by Lukaku in the first half and was outjumped by him in the second half. But was positionally sound. 6/10

Matt Phillips

Tracked back and defended well with Nyom, and provided some width when Albion were on the ball, but rarely threatened going forward. 6/10

Jake Livermore

Had a shot saved by De Gea and was bursting forward more than previous weeks to support the strikers. 6/10

Chris Brunt

Dallied on the ball needlessly on the odd occasion but they were rare mistakes in a sound performance. On the whole he helped keep Albion ticking along and sparked a few counter-attacks with simple balls up to Rondon or Rodriguez. 6/10

James McClean

A hard-working performance full of running. Found Rondon’s head with a few crosses and also whistled a shot past the post. Was solid in defence and helped make the pitch big when Albion were on the ball. One of the catalysts of Moore's recent success. 7/10

Jay Rodriguez - Man of the match

Stole possession twice in the first half to set up chances, and was dropping back into midfield when necessary. An astute and hard-working performance, he barely put a foot wrong and then scored with his only sniff of goal it the game. It was nothing less than he deserved and capped off a great week personally. Albion will be hoping they can keep him for next season. 9/10

Salomon Rondon

Set Livermore up for his chance and had a couple of headed chances, but neither tested De Gea. He was a strong focal point for passes up to him and laid the ball off to runners like Rodriguez and McClean well. 7/10

Substitutes

Grzegorz Krychowiak (Phillips 77)

Shored things up and kept United at bay. 6/10

Daniel Sturridge (Rondon 84)

Didn’t have much time to make an impact. 5/10

Claudio Yacob (Brunt 90+2)

Only brought on to run down the clock. 5/10

Unused: Myhill, Gabr, Field, Burke.
