Hal Robson-Kanu set to return for West Brom against Leicester City
Hal Robson-Kanu is set to return from his hamstring injury this weekend, bolstering Alan Pardew’s attacking options.
The Wales international has been sidelined since January, when he limped off in the first half of Albion’s 3-2 FA Cup win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Liverpool loanee Daniel Sturridge picked up an injury at Stamford Bridge in February, leaving Pardew without a back-up striker on the bench to come on for Jay Rodriguez or Salomon Rondon.
Sturridge is still unavailable for this weekend’s home match with Leicester, but Robson-Kanu is expected to return to the squad. He has scored two league goals this season from eight starts.
Albion lost four players to injury during a stop-start game at Anfield controversially affected by video assistant referrals, and Robson-Kanu is the last to return to action.
Jonny Evans, Kieran Gibbs and Jake Livermore were also injured during the match, and the Baggies have lost six games in a row since then.
“Since we had those injuries in that game we've never really recovered properly,” said Alan Pardew. “It's been a very difficult period the last four or five weeks.”
Nacer Chadli and James Morrison remain sidelined, although it's hoped Sturridge will return for the trip to Bournemouth.
