West Brom Blog: Home games key for survival

Home games are going to be key if Albion are to beat the drop, writes Baggies blogger Nathan Carr.

Southampton will be the first test next weekend, followed by Huddersfield, Leicester City, Burnley, Swansea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

In my opinion, we should be targeting at least 12 points from those seven games. At least.

That has to be a feasible target.

Our home form under Alan Pardew has been pretty strong: just one defeat in five and that was against Manchester United.

Even then, we gave them a good run for their money.

I think a minimum of 35 points will be enough to stay up this season such is the lack of quality down at the bottom.

If we can produce at the Hawthorns and pick up a couple of positive results on the road, then we should be fine.

Indeed, the fact that we’re still in with a shout – three points off Stoke City in 17th - is quite extraordinary having won only three matches out of 24.

We’re not completely cut adrift, far from it.

The fans have an influential part to play, too, in building a vibrant atmosphere that the players can thrive off.

Keep The Faith, Baggies.
