Grzegorz Krychowiak isn't out of favour with Alan Pardew and could feature in the Boxing Day clash with Everton.

The Paris Saint-Germain loanee, who Albion are paying £108,000-a-week, wasn't named in the squad for Saturday's defeat at Stoke.

But Pardew insists the Polish midfielder remains in his plans and he's currently expected to see out his season-long loan from the French club.

"He isn’t a player that is out of favour with me by any stretch of the imagination," said Pardew. "He has done okay. He might feature in the next game.

"It was a tough decision. Obviously I had (Claudio) Yacob on the bench (at Stoke) which I thought might be important.

"His experience might have been needed at the end of the game. I didn’t expect to be chasing the game, maybe to sew the game up."

Krychowiak may feature against the Toffees, but Pardew is having second thoughts about using Matt Phillips after Nacer Chadli injured himself on his return from injury.

"He is back training but I am a little bit nervous after Chadli as you would imagine," said Pardew.

"I thought he would play Boxing Day, all my staff think he is okay.

"I don’t want to go back on that decision but after Chadli we will have to look at it. There’s nothing mental to it."

Everton come to The Hawthorns unbeaten in six games and their form has dramatically improved under Sam Allardyce.

Pardew has not had the same immediate impact at Albion, who have won two points from his five games in charge.

"It's difficult to assess that," he said. "You're talking about two different clubs, different fields, different way of playing.

"This team, definitely in that dressing room there is enough quality. They've just got to believe it.

"Get a win somewhere along the line and some of these players will blossom.

"There is one or two still playing a bit hampered by 17 games without a win.

"I think sometimes your confidence can be affected purely by the pressure of results.

"Individually, on the training ground and on the pitch on Saturday, some of the performances were first class.

"It is just a question of putting that performance together and we might need a real stroke of luck to get that win.

"I think we’ll see a different response from certain individuals. Some of those individials are coping with it okay. Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans, Chris Brunt.

"We had a bit more quality on the pitch on Saturday and thought we made some inroads into what we want to achieve.

"We had the best attacking stats we had all year and yet we got beat. So we need to iron out a few issues.

"Against Everton, if I get that same level of commitment and quality we showed at times today I think we can get a win."

A SCRAPPY 1-0 COULD TURN THE SEASON?

Who knows what it will be? Against Everton, if I get that same level of commitment and quality we showed at times today I think we can get a win.
