Burke has experienced a frustrating two months since joining the Baggies in a £15million move from RB Leipzig, a hamstring injury limiting the 20-year-old to just two substitute appearances in the Premier League so far.

Now fully recovered, the Scotland international is due for a return to full training tomorrow and is expected to be in contention for Saturday’s home game against Manchester City.

The Baggies are seven without a win in the top flight and have slid to within two points of the relegation zone but Burke has vowed to deliver excitement.

“I am a very attacking player. I like to get forward and take my man on,” he said. “That is the kind of player I am. I want to get fans off their seats.

“I am a team player too and that is why I am at West Brom. It’s a very together team and we work as a unit and work hard. I am very happy to be here and I can’t wait to get to get out there and help the team.”

The Baggies offered Burke, a Nottingham Forest academy product, a route back to England after a season in the Bundesliga with Leipzig.

He made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Stoke back in August but has not featured since the 3-1 defeat away at Brighton in early September.

“It’s obviously frustrating when you come to a new club and you are injured but it is life, it happens,” he added.

“You have to pick yourself up, keep your head up and be ready for when you are back.

“When given a chance and when I’m confident I am sure it will work out. I am just eager and ready to go. I just can’t wait to play.”

He continued: “It’s a great club, a Premier League club. When I spoke with Tony Pulis he told me how much he liked me and that is always great, when the manager likes you. I couldn’t turn it down. It is great to be here.”
