West Brom snap up 18-year-old Chelsea defender Kyle Jameson
West Brom have brought 18-year-old Chelsea defender Kyle Jameson into their academy on a one-year contract with a further one-year in the club's favour.
The centre-back has already played two games on trial for Albion’s under-23s this month and has impressed academy coaches.
Chelsea signed Jameson from National League club Southport in January, but he only featured as a substitute for their under-18s.
He had a trial with Celtic in July before his trial with the Baggies in August.
The Manchester-born defender was on Everton's books as a youngster but was released by the Toffees a number of years ago.
“I’m delighted," said Jameson. "I did a bit of research and this is a wonderful club.
“I’ve already played a couple of games and enjoyed it. Once we start working together as a team then we’ll start winning matches."
