West Brom agree £10.6m fee for Fenerbahce's Josef de Souza
Albion have agreed a fee of £10.6million with Fenerbahce for Josef de Souza.
The Baggies are hoping to sign the Brazilian midfielder, who can also play right-back, before the window shuts on Thursday.
The 28-year-old, who has three caps for Brazil, does not hold an EU passport and so Albion need to secure him a work permit to play in the Premier League.
Pulis has wanted a central midfielder since the start of summer. Although he's already signed Gareth Barry, the former Everton man was brought in to replace departed skipper Darren Fletcher.
Albion's head coach prefers players with Premier League experiences but rising fees have encouraged him to widen his net.
"The problem we have now is that the English market is getting even tougher," said Pulis. "So we might have to take a chance on a couple of players from abroad."
If Souza did arrive before the window shuts, it may allow teenagers Rekeem Harper or Sam Field to go out on loan.
Elsewhere, James Morrison has been recalled to the Scotland squad for their World Cup double header against Lithuania and Malta.
The Albion man was left out of Gordon Strachan's original squad because of injury, but he has since returned to action. He replaces the injured Tom Cairney.
