West Brom fans enjoy away-day win in north Wales

With the first team flying thousands of miles to Hong Kong for their latest pre-season venture, more than 200 Albion fans were not to be denied their football fix on Saturday.

The loyal Baggies support made the trip to north Wales to follow the under-23s at Rhyl, where they were rewarded with a 4-0 victory. All the goals came in the final 20 minutes, with Tahvon Campbell setting them on the way to a late goal rush.

Kidderminster Harriers enjoyed their own feast at Stourport Swifts, Joe Ironside bagging four in their 8-0 triumph, while Ryan Croasdale, Sam Austin, Andre Brown and Liam Truslove were also on target.

Lee Chilton was at the double in Halesowen Town’s 4-1 victory at Stafford Town, with Jordan Goddard and an own goal accounting for the other strikes. Harry Bowers netted for Stafford.

Hednesford Town made it two pre-season wins in succession following a goal from Lee Smith at Romulus.

Rushall Olympic threw their hat into the ring for comeback of the season in their opening encounter at Stratford Town.

Twelve of the 16 players in the Pics’ squad were registered as trialists for the match, with them netting three of the four goals.

Sam Whittall got the other for the Pics as they overturned a 3-0 half-time deficit, thanks in part to a red card for the home team.

Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson scored Stafford Rangers’ goal in their 2-1 defeat to Wrexham.

Chasetown were 4-2 winners at Heath Hayes thanks to goals from Jake Lovatt, Chris Baker, Will Whieldon and Clayton Johnson. Regen Smith and Jack Arrowsmith netted for Hayes.
